About Fit Chelle

About Fit ChelleHi, I’m Rauchelle! I’m a former fitness competitor, personal trainer and nutritional coach, and have worked in the health and fitness industry for many years. Although my stage and competition days are over now, my passion for healthy living (both inside and out) is stronger than ever! Competing molded me into the person that I am today, and even though it had its downfalls, it led to a healthy, balanced lifestyle that I still enjoy.

Like many fitness competitors, I thought that I would always be a slave to the gym and assumed that giving up everything else I enjoyed would be the key to success and happiness. I certainly feel blessed and thankful for the opportunity, but competing taught me that true happiness is only achieved by finding balance. I don’t believe in sacrificing, but I do believe in finding a “happy medium” – within every aspect of life.

I’m certainly not your typical, super green, all natural, organic chick; although I do try. Helping you find foods you enjoy, workouts you love and having an awesome attitude while doing it is my ultimate goal. I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but developing a healthy lifestyle that you can live with is THE KEY. That’s why I created this blog!

Let’s face it… I’m no celebrity. You aren’t here because I’m some super hot fitness model that everyone talks about or aspires to be. I’m just an average, everyday chick who just so happened to have some decent genetics and worked really hard to carve out a small space in the fitness industry. I’ve made many mistakes along the way, but hopefully my experiences will help you develop a happier, healthier lifestyle for yourself.

As you might have guessed, I wasn’t built like the other girls when I was younger. By the fifth grade I had bigger calves than most of the boys! Naturally, everyone noticed, until one day I was given the nickname “M&M” (Macho Man). From that day forward I wore baggy jeans and t-shirts, and I didn’t wear shorts again until I was 20 years old. Not a fun time for me!

Then in middle school I started dealing with a battle that many women go through and never talk about – eating disorders. Very few people know about my struggles with food, but I’m happy to say that bulimia and anorexia are long behind me.

Like many people, fast food and partying were once a part of my everyday life. The beginning of my new, healthy lifestyle began when I was told that I didn’t have discipline by an ex boyfriend. Taking that as a challenge, I immediately joined the gym, quit smoking and entered my first show a few months later (proudly won!). Then I went on to compete nationally, started working and managing a large health club, training, motivating, changing my life and many others along the way.

Although I still workout regularly, these days my husband and two beautiful girls take up most of my time. Being a stay-at-home is no joke, but this “break” from the fitness industry has allowed be to discover my true balance in health – and happiness. It has been quite the journey and I hope that I can help you achieve the same at FitChelle.com.
